@[Blankite](/user/show/108413) Yeah there's a lot of tell-tale signs. The aggressive lack of eroticism or sex, the out of place little chapter headings, the formal business-like prose style, and all the characters talking like HR managers

Eagerly awaiting the next chapter. One of the best starts to a story I’ve read in a long time!!

So, what’s fun about this is…everything? The zany sensibilities! The arcane afflictions! The swoony servants! Very excited to see where this journey takes us.

I am so glad you are enjoying the story - that feeling is why I enjoy writing and sharing these stories. More to come

Fantastic ending! I love how you present just enough of Danny to be villainous without explaining everything--he comes across as just an average man who's somehow accessed mind-warping technology (the fact that he can't figure out how to make his subliminals work via streaming services is a great touch--he's not a super-genius), and he's using it for world domination in the sexiest way possible. Why? What's the end game beyond turning men into sex-obsessed, stupefied bros? We don't need one, and that's part of the genius of it. I also love that Ray got a surprise appearance--what a great way to cap off the chapter. Well done, Hypnothrill!

@[Feed Your Head](/user/show/1170832) Thanks for your detailed comments! You're always such a perceptive reader, I wait for your feedback whenever I post a new story. I'm glad you appreciated Ray's surprise appearance at the end; that idea actually came very late in the writing process, as I'd already written most of the tattoo scene then started wondering how the tattoo artist would be reacting to all of this dialogue. I'd been wanting to add Ray into the story--as he was the only major part of the original who hadn't returned for this sequel--and then suddenly had a lightbulb moment to make Ray the tattoo artist (which made sense to me, as he was always depicted as more "alternative" than the basic frat jocks Mike and Josh).

@[Feed Your Head](/user/show/1170832) This story was sort of my "Force Awakens," a sequel to a beloved story that hits a lot of the same beats but introduces enough variations that it doesn't seem like a shameless ripoff. But one of the places where I diverged the most from the original was in my conception of Danny. He doesn't appear at all in DannyDaLionKing's story, where the Danny Boyz seem to have all the control over the audience, a great metaphor for the sexual magnetism that pop idols exert over their fans. But in remaking it as a Hypnothrill story, I of course wanted to make them just pawns in a larger game. I usually don't have mind controller figures in my stories--I tend to find vast shadowy impersonal conspiracies a lot sexier--but when I do, I make them like Danny, unsexy sociopathic shlubs who've just lucked into great power. And I'm not sure if anyone got this reference, but Danny shares a last name with the svengali/convicted felon who put together the Backstreet Boys and NSync and allegedly tried to seduce the boys he managed.

@[Hypnothrill](/user/show/37386) You make me blush, Hypnothrill! Thank you so much for your kind words. I always enjoy reading your stories—there’s so much to talk about! I agree that this expands the idea of the original story and gives it a decidedly Hypnothrill twist (the one guy trying to escape, the greater emphasis on the slowness of the brainwashing, the difficulty of resistance…). I also like that your stories have vague antagonists, too; we’ve seen the “Master” in the “Musclehead” series (implied to be the muscular guy in the training video in “Tyler’s Journal”) and the billionaire web developer in “Need for Speedo” (which I think is one of the first times we ever had one of your villains named). But as you say, the idea that the villains are a shadowy cabal whose only focus is reducing men to slack-jawed meatheads is far sexier and scarier (without a single antagonist, we can’t know how to stop what’s happening). Thank you for another fantastic story! :)
