While a long post, I think it went too fast. Neither seemed to really enjoy the transformation. Like at the start, John didn't say revel in the idea of gaining dog features, nor did the master seem to maybe get excited by the changes. Like having a sex scene as the sub gained fur. Or him getting pleasure from doing dog stuff.

@Anon Yes, I agree. Since the goal for the ending is "perfect happiness" for Gil, the canon ending chose this route. The human route would require a rewrite of the lore basically, I don't think the Primal Beast would allow Gil to remain uncorrupted when his victory in the West is so near. Even barring that, even with teratophilua (which is a very hot kink) involved, Gil would still be fetishizing about becoming a wolf, and the transformation of him and other easterners would feel like a good daydream they would never get to live. There is an element of tragegy there that I don't want for Gil - I love the boy. Both of tge scenarios are interesting what ifs! I will find a way to mention that Rudolf has a twin and Gil becomes a father regardless, it is up you to decide what to make with that info.

@[Pcm](/user/show/10039396) I think much like you've said, gil would be somewhat despondent at first. However, there'd always the possibility that the primal beast corrupts them in other ways- maybe he can't change their bodies, but he can make them in mind like the beastfolk. So even if gil does not have the body of a beast, he has the essence of one- as would the other easteners. I could see them being sort of the in between regarding humans and beastfolk. I think in that possibility, gil would find a way to come to terms with himself. This could involve the dawn possibly forestalling any bodily corruption so the beast has to take the long way around- like with the intebreeding campaign. Of course, this is mostly a what if manner. One could even have them not even be corrupted, but willingly embracing the primal beasts teachings as acolytes of a sort. It would require gil to have to come to terms that he is okay as a human and not feeling self concious over himself though. When you say Rudolf has a twin, do you mean Raphael? Or are you talking about ruby? Or somebody new? And if gil winds up having kids...I wonder what they'd be like, and what roles they'd have. Gil kind of does deserve a break to be honest. I just hope Collin is able to figure things out once he finds out about matters. But yes, from Gilson perspective the ending we see here is arguably the happiest.

@Anon Oops. I meant that Rudy was going to have twins as his sons. He will be a doting father to them because they remind him so much of Ralf and himself. You will find out briefly about (one of) Gil's children in the epilogue. Your idea for an enthralled human is wonderful! I might save them for a later story. Collin's situation may resemble Gil's quite a bit, but I think that they are actually different? Not only did Gil fall to the corruption within a relatively short period of time after his family's, Collin will encounter his after they have been embroiled in their new state for a long period of time. The shift in attitude, aside from the increased libido, in the Wolf family is also less dramatic than Collin's, as the Wolfs have always been somewhat always gung ho about the West, masculinity, and family, and their shift only reinforces that, making it somewhat easier for Gil to accept and be tempted by that. The demonic corruption turns Collin's family into depraved monsters obsessed with hedonistic pleasure while they were previously virtuous chivalric knight, so his story will differ to certain degrees.
