I really enjoyed this a lot, as someone from Texas I understand like guys that look like cowboys. I would no mater what path you go down as long as we get to see another threesome with them.

@Anonymous Thank you! Yes, I grew up around all those cowboys. I always fantasized about doing something like in the story to them. Thanks for reading!

Intriguing premise 😏

Interesting premise, definitely worth a continuation to see what's really going on in the neighbourhood. So far it appears that the main character has evaded the power of the hive and managed to take advantage of the zonked out neighbours, but all this seems unrelated to what the hive is doing. It'd be interesting to know what goes on at the meetings, what's really behind it all and if the main character will eventually fall in line with the others as well.

@[tomozco](/user/show/13902) Yeah, for some reason it was hot to me that this neighbour wasn't involved in the actual alien hive mind stuff at all, but was still going to use it to his advantage. I could definitely explore the reasoning behind the hive mind more if I continued the series. Thanks for reading, and if you have any suggestions let me know!

I’m the one who commissioned this story and it’s incredible! It was hypno perfection from beginning to end. If anyone is considering commissioning HappyTrance for a story, I highly recommend it!

I've been meaning to do a bit of longer commentary on this installment. First, I love having most of it from Dusk's point of view. I really like being inside his head and seeing how he thinks now, and what "realignment" means. Consider his interaction with DT-037. Midnight/Archie probably wouldn't have thought of anything but horror about DT-037 being enslaved, and probably would have never thought of using him sexually, given his inability to give true consent. Dusk has no qualms about wondering if Master might temporarily assign DS-037 to him for a bit of fun. In the fight at the beginning, Dusk can admire Morrigan's capabilities, but has no urge to assist the heroes, and dislikes the way the League has treated her. He's there for Master, period. He also thinks of Bonecrafter as surprisingly "sane and intelligent" even while acknowledging that he's a butcher in a lab coat. Then there's Dusk's interaction with Onyx later on. His reaction to the threat of being cut off from Master and the Network for a month is illuminating. He considers this possibility worse than any punishment he has previously experienced since he became a drone. Even his dismissal of his thought about Master's decor verging on gaudy is interesting - it's an Archie thought, not a Dusk thought, and therefore doesn't matter. And finally, there's his near panic at the idea that not all is well with Master - this undermines his sense of well-being and of Master as a god-like being. All in all we get a picture of a drone who may still be a person, but is very different from the person he was when he first found Master and before. In his thoughts about Horizon, Dusk also gives us a hint of how realignment works differently on different drones. He notes how much Horizon has changed from the man he recruited, and even Dusk finds Horizon's focus, devotion, and fanaticism in serving Master intense. However, he doesn't seem at all troubled by this; he merely takes note of it. The only part of this Interlude that isn't seen from Dusk's point of view is DT-X's meeting with the Mayor. There, we're inside DT-X's head, and this too is very interesting. His way of thinking is not too far from Dusk's, but he seems even more focused on Master and Master's plans and even less able to contemplate disobedience. Even in his head, he yields to Master to make decisions on how to proceed based on the sensory input he's getting. DT-X seems to be a drone whose conversion came more naturally to him than Dusk's. Plot wise, this interlude is heavy on exposition, but we learn a fair amount and get a lot of hints about what's to come. Jamie is even more important to Master than we thought, and his acquisition by Master is now imminent. Dusk will play a pivotal role in that, though it may be a lot harder than he was expecting. Master's broader plan involves a type of Drone he's calling "Defenders", but he needs the help of the city authorities to implement it, and doing so will at least take the League and the big corporate "Parents" of New Fairfax down a notch or two in the City's power structure (and not incidentally make Master a bigger player). Anyway, that's all I got for now, but I'd love to read what the rest of you have to say about what I've said here and what may be coming up.

Great story, would have liked a bit of a sex scene though. The characters felt very realised and not like thoughtless hollow puppets of the writer. Overall fantastic job, your writing has an ease that keeps you reading, nicely paced and moves smoothly from one scenario to the next. The story has a great tone and I do so love when a caged boy calls his master Sir. Five Stars, truly a pleasure to read.

He knows what he wants and what he needs to be. I can't wait to see him get it!
