This is so fucking hot, it almost doesn't need the sex scenes. I really loved the mind control and revenge reasons behind it, and it's just told so well!

I'd say it's more likely a function of Valour's leadership skills than any real niceness. Probably comes from his military experience.

So going back to the tribunal discussion, it's interesting that Valour, supposedly the biggest jackass of the lot, is actually the one who comes off as the most human and least dislikable. Out of all of them, he's the one who has the best understanding of the League's "loyalty problem," and puts the blame squarely where it mostly lies - with the senior heroes. He also comes closest to understanding what the solution should be, which is more personal attention, better training, and positive reinforcement from mentors to their sidekicks. It seems it's no accident that Luxor idolizes his mentor. Of course Valour's motives seem more than a little self-serving, but still.

@[copsboy64](/user/show/910425) Perhaps it means that ironically Valour, even though his motive is not to “do good”, is in fact the kindest and nicest hero? I wonder what that says about Master considering his ideology and actions 🫥

Really sexy! Loved it! So much variety based on the same triggers!!! I must admit, for some reason, when readying the synopsis, I thought of a squishmallow or whatever those plushies are called. So I got whisplash when I realized it was a "silent library" fantasy with no TF. :satisfied:

@[BobbyBlobfish](/user/show/700733) Thank you so much, Blobby! Sorry it didn't match your squishy fantasies though haha

Would be gutting if you didn’t wrap this up with one final chapter, one of the best series I’ve read for quite a long time!!

Are we allowed to guess authors? Because I have some strong suspicions I know the author behind this tantalizing little tale.

@[Demivierge](/user/show/908122) Best not to state your guess publicly, I suppose, since it’s not in the spirit of the contest… More fun if it’s anonymous! But I’m charmed that people are speculating, haha. I did take inspiration from a few different authors for different branches, and some of the guesses so far have been flattering. I’m glad you’re finding it to be a tantalizing read!

Great story - thank you - option 1 please

@[Jim](/user/show/10026335) Thank you! And no worries, I finished writing both options last night. 😉 You'll get to read both! (I just need to write the continuations of the other three branches too — aka, Micah, the security guards, and the incubus — and then I'll post all five new chapters at once.)

I don't think I've read an Eldritch being manipulating reality so that humans can perceive them quite like this. Brilliant!

@[Zi19](/user/show/922060) Thank you! I had a lot of fun coming up with him... I'm glad you're enjoying it! 😁
