Reading the story makes me feel really good. I like the ambiguity of the black grease/cum, and the link between the jacket and his masculinity.I want more. I like the way the story progresses.

This was great! And I love that the alias was Dick Greyson, heh.

I loved this! The whole vibe of _bros being bros_, suffused with intensifying homoeroticism, is so much of what I’m always looking for on this site. The nonchalance, the confidence, the casual sexuality of it all is really well written and draws me in very effectively. I’m glad to have read this, and I hope to see more!

@[Soren Fitz](/user/show/10011670) Thanks, sincerely. Those are some of my favorite stories, too. There’s a lot of lampshaded homoeroticism inherent in traditional male-male bonding, and I love stories that let it snowball into full blown sex. Glad you liked it!

I wish I could express how flattered I am whenever I see a tribute story, humbled that my work has had such an effect on so many people. I think you're off to a good start here. Remember that the audience doesn't know what you know -- they only know what you tell them. CYCLE ONE is a story about addiction, so allow the creepiness to be a slow burn. The narrator might think there's something not quite right about the CO rep, but there's no reason for his hostility -- not yet. The users should enjoy their success at first and then realize they're caught in the trap. Does that make sense? I'm really excited to read this series! Keep up the good work and the fun angle!

@[absman420](/user/show/162063) I'm happy that you've given what I've written so far a thumbs up. Your stories are some of the things I strive to create so it's only natural to have me as an imitator. I think the addiction I have in mind here is more on the personal level. If anything I'm thinking more in line with _Snowfall_ and the addiction not as much to the drink but to certain feelings that come about. Addiction comes in many forms; I'm thinking of changing the form of addiction, but addiction will be a part of the story. I may have to reach out to you to make it works, but I'll do my best to put something out there you hopefully will like.

@[absman420](/user/show/162063) This makes me think I need to hit the books about addiction because now that I see it in your response I don't really know how Cycle One is addictive. It's transformative but where does the addiction lie? If it imbues energy, martial arts often talk about harnassing qi which is what would be part of the things that make things different in my mind. But there's a need to hit the books to understand what addiction is and isn't and how Cycle One could be addictive.

Any praise is well deserved.

@[New Guy in Town](/user/show/820450) I'm not Absman, but I do think addiction is a pretty central theme in his "Cycle One" stories; there are all kinds of references to steroids (being on "the juice"), and the guys who start drinking it babble enthusiastically like they're on a cocaine high. (And of course there's that great scene where Sam tries to mimic the Cycle One users he's scene by looking longingly at the bottle, salivating like a Pavlov-conditioned dog). To me, that's one of the major factors that distinguishes "Cycle One" from most of the "magic potion" muscle growth stories that were being written at the time, which almost exclusively focus on the positives and wish-fulfillment aspects. With Cycle One, you might gain more physical power, but you lose your willpower. I think Absman is giving you good writing advice, as readers come in with certain expectations for a Cycle One story. If you want to do a very different kind of "magic potion" story, then maybe just call the product something like Grow Juice. (Maybe Eric is mostly selling the AbsMango flavor...)

Outstanding! An imaginative and creative ride that dodged a lot of the tropes and became something surprising, new, and unique. Oh, and very hot. Great to see work from you again.

@temporaryhotsaucetofu The evidence on drone intellect is a little mixed, but here are my hypotheses: 1. The symbiotes are simple lifeforms without much native intelligence, although DS-013/Jamie's symbiote is by Master's own boast considerably more complex than the ones that came before. They are primarily animated by their emotional responses to Master - love, adoration, utter obedience and subservience, and fear of disappointing him. 2. The conversion and integration process is highly disorienting, especially for a super, who's likely to have a strong personality and resist the idea of submission. 3. The intellect and personality of the fully converted and integrated drone is largely that of its human host, but only comes to the fore when Master requires it, or when the drone is given free time and Master has no reason to keep them suppressed. And even at these times, the symbiote is in control and keeps the drone's' thoughts and feelings in line. Essentially, the merger of symbiote and host is also a merger of their formerly separate intellects and personalities. Together, they might even be a little more intelligent than the original human host, but the human personality only comes to the fore when Master needs or allows it. Take DS-011/Pet. In the prologue it says that he spends his time with his mind "blank, happy, and horny." But in his appearance in Chapter 4, where Master has set him the task of looking after DS-013 while he undergoes his initial conversion, DS-011/Pet shows a definite personality, even coming close to, but not crossing, the line of insubordination. Yet as soon as he hears Master's instruction to go play, he reverts immediately back to a mindless state. As for DS-005/Dusk, every indication is that he is one of Master's most trusted superdrones, and it is possible that he spends more time "on" and is only in that blank, happy and horny state when he wants to be, when the symbiote feels he needs to be, or when Master wants him to be. Or, more likely, he too is kept "blank, happy and horny" when Master isn't using his services, but gets a fair amount of recreational time when he is allowed to be mostly his own person. This is pretty much what he told Jamie in their Grindr conversation.

I'd change places with Ben any day to get a daddy like David. What a great story.
