Damn, this was incredible. Love what you’ve done with the initial curse and it would be great to see more of how these three men struggle to convince themselves they’re still great. Also, I’d love a story that starts with the same curse but a different (stricter) interpretation. To wit, any man who sees Brad’s ass must inevitably fuck it, once he does he becomes gay, and Brad can only get off from being fucked. But what if Brad remains straight and is fully aware of the curse? In other words, he’s a big instigator in these stories, but what if he stayed truly straight but needed to begrudgingly entrap guys to fuck him whenever his horniness got so high that he just had to get off? Would also love hints of what happened to Brad in the showers (even if it would be implausible for the first person narrator to see it directly) Awesome story.

I must admit I'm surprised to hear that you consulted with Ng5 so extensively to create this; it feels like it's going in a completely different direction from his stuff. That being said, it's a direction I think I like! Very interested to see how you develop this world.

@Anonymous Thank you for your reply. It is going in a different way from Ng5's writing because I'm approaching it differently. I think Jake explains that in how the dreams condition the servants as opposed to the drones. Drones just stare into the spiral and become mindless; servants still have the mind but they are conditioned to serve Jake. I definitely talked with Ng5 about how to work this in but this is actually the first stage of the three stages much like Ng5 has established. So if I were to say it, I would say my work is adjacent to his work, expanding the space out and eventually it will work out how the servants and the drones exist in the same world. Thanks for your support and I hope you keep reading and supporting this extension of Ng5's world.

@[New Guy in Town](/user/show/820450) Well, I’m not really sure I’d call myself a diehard fan of the Drone World series, so correct me if I’m wrong, but my understanding of the general outline is that “Jake” starts out genuinely wanting to help humanity, only for that wish to become gradually corrupted over the ages as his control becomes more and more absolute. To me it reads almost like a kinky parody of one of those classic cautionary tales about some AI that’s designed to make our lives better but instead goes rogue and ends up destroying humanity because it’s too ruthlessly pragmatic to comprehend that our very flaws are what define us. This, by contrast, seems to take great pains to portray the conditioning as a constructive experience, leading to something very different, perhaps even utopian in a sense. In-universe mechanics and worldbuilding aside, it just feels like the two narrative visions aren’t very thematically/tonally compatible with each other. But honestly, don’t pay me any mind, I’m probably massively overthinking it(it’s been known to happen!). Regardless of all my blathering, it’s like I said: I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.

@Anonymous As a literary and cultural scholar, I respect reads and analyses like yours. You do have a point. I think the difference between Ng5 and myself is our starting point. Ng5 identifies with the drone and writes to that end; I identify with the servant and am trying to work out where the willing subject fits in this world. I think that is where the difference between the two lies. But I'm glad you support my foray into this world and trying to build the world out a bit.
