I am loving this story! Wish I could have had this job in my teens. [Just thought I would mention that you seem to have used the name Kyle instead of JD a couple of times towards the end of the story. One example: "Kyle said with a wide grin."]

@boi98229 Ok thanks I'll correct this.

Hot! Love the reveal that JD was secretly at least a little curious already despite having a girlfriend, and that his transformation will be more of bringing out himself than changing him from straight to gay! Boss needs to get JD his uniform soon which I imagine will contain at least some leather :)

@Stormbound Don't worry, JD's uniform is coming (very) soon... ;)

@Stormbound Hey Stormbound, just wanted to say that I too like where JD's sexuality is starting out. Recall that he *only hangs out* with his *girlfriend*. He is still only 15 and still figuring things out. There are so many gay guys out there (like me!) looking for hot leather Tops that I kind of resent all the apparent interest by so many authors in turning straight guys gay. ...Also love the leather!

What a wonderful parable! Thanks to Nutiper, Anon, and Amul, who've made me finally read this little gem. And of course to Derek, who wrote it. I had no idea, classic case of ratings turning one away from a story. Granted, this is not about wanking, it's not about sex (at first glance), it's not even about mind control. But it's about change. And one of the biggest turning points in one's life. Many of us can relate to this story, have fought the same battle. Some of us even might have friends like Chris fading out of their lives because they were able to make the step you couldn't do yourself. At least for the older guys here on this site, this sounds just all too familiar. I think it's better these days, at least in some places, but let's all remember the "The Process" isn't easy and that hundreds of millions are still suffering because they are afraid of it.

Thank you @Martin, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Fun fact: when this first came out and the comments were uncertain, I asked you to remove this story. You asked me to reconsider; and I’m glad you did.

I read this story back when it came out and it resonated with me then a lot, and rereading it now it really still does. I guess some commenters felt thrown off by it since it wasn't a power fantasy, wasn't a porn set up, wasn't a usual trope of GSS story, but I appreciated seeing a story which draws so viscerally on the feeling of being closeted and growing up gay... this is "gay" spiral stories, after all! And this type of literary, heartfelt take on those types of emotions is really nice to read, and felt intensely personal and relatable. The story may be fictionalized and put through this filter of metaphor and allegory, but reading lines about how the protagonist was "no bigot, but surely it would never happen to *him*" still hit hard. I understand why this story wasn't necessarily a hit on a website most often devoted to erotica, but if the author is still reading comments I want him to know it struck a chord with me and was artfully and beautifully done.

@anonymous I agree with everything you said, anon. I did not read this story when it came out and might have missed it if not for your comment, so thank you very much for making a late comment on the story even if Derek doesn't see it. This is a fine story entirely on its own merits, and who cares if it's not an ideal fit for GSS?

Oh, trust me, I read all my comments. My ego demands it.
