Another hot one from Hypnothrill! Love these mass assimilation plots where one walks into a group of obliviously converted guys carrying on life as usual in their parallel universe. I look forward to Leo gradually discovering more and more of the "new normal" in his office and ultimately finding out his "buddy".

Thanks @Lohengrin - my bad. I made a snap decision to put in an entry as the idea struck me, which meant two late nights to get it in in time. Still not a good excuse. I've rectified the offending name. I indeed mean the Greek sorceress Circe

I liked this, and not just because i was involved in that thread... Since one of my first stories from you was "Shadow on the Wall", I'm a sucker for happy ending stories. Now to resist the urge to go through your stories and "find" you in the background...

Thanks @BlindSeer0! I'm hoping nobody in the thread is annoyed that I took this idea and spun it out into a story. Sometimes my favourite work comes from an interesting 'real world' issue that needs to get parodied. Shadow was one of my first stories, and it's still one of my favourites. The whole thing is a metaphor for realizing that you're gay and the difficulty of coming out. I wrote it when I was much closer to that experience myself, and I'm glad it holds up over time. Also, yeah, sometimes you just need a happy ending. Sometimes. I wouldn't try to find me in the stories too much. Sometimes it's just a re-use of my physical description, sometimes it's a conversation quoted verbatim out of my life, sometimes the setting is just a bar that I was at one night and the story takes place on the other side of the room. It's not like Stan Lee in the Marvel movies.
