I have half the chapter done, but I'm a bit stuck with writer's block. No promises, but maybe by the middle of July? Really depends on inspiration.

@bluesuedewho I see, I hope inspiration strikes then

@bluesuedewho I also hope that you find inspiration soon. I have been checking this site vigorously for weeks waiting for the next chapter.

I love this ending. I always enjoy when a protagonist has their hopes snuffed out by the discovery of someone that they think could save them has already been compromised. I'm reminded of when the protagonist of 'Watching the Game' receives a call from his father only to discover that he's already been taken. Good work on this one!

I love so much how you're dong the POV of the hypnotised, like , when everything seems normal to him, when he had to explain how to do the moon, speak chinese without realising it etc etc

@Marc Many thanks! That justification process is definitely a lot of fun and hot for me - how could I make it seem like a normal mind was rationalizing that, etc.? It's an exciting challenge!

WOW. I wasn't expecting a Tobe Hooper's or George Romero's movie- like ending for this story. It's not a complain, of course, I love the films of those masters of horror, so I love this ending so much. It was a great story from start o finish, a total pleasure to read. It's a new favorite of mine.

@Plymouth58 Yeah, that ending was a late decision. Originally, I was going to do my much more standard ending, where the last holdout (Brian) falls, then add a brief epilogue where Brian (now thinking of himself as just another Lexeed) still retains the intelligence to pilot the boat back to the mainland. But then I thought about whether there were more creative ways to end the story and still get that "spreading sex-zombie virus" vibe that I wanted. Also, in previous parts I'd mentioned the soldiers carrying pistols. So with Chekhov's gun and all, that shooting scene just made sense.
