I hate that this had to end. I am surprised that you've not gotten a lot more feedback as this was an amazing journey from start to finish. I want you to know I appreciate the work that went into this and hope whatever your "fantasy novel" ends up being is HALF has good as this! Please don't let this be the end for Rocky and Colt...you left it open and I hope you come back sooner than later.

Wow, what a story series. I loved the mind control aspects of it, but I think what sticks with me are the characters. (Reflecting on this, I think of the most memorable stories for me are the ones where I, the reader, make some kind of emotional connection with a character or characters - off the top of my head I think of [Brother-in-Law Christmas](https://www.gayspiralstories.com/series/show/792354), [Volunteers](https://www.gayspiralstories.com/series/show/10000310) and of course [Brain Feed](https://www.gayspiralstories.com/story/show/1670).) As I said in a comment to a previous installment, the point-of-view starts out from Colt's, but by the end, I've "given up" trying to understand Colt. We never really know what's going on in his mind, even after he gives Rocky the engraved necklace. He's knowably only through his actions. As you can tell, I predicted some of the outcomes given the chapters you provided. That doesn't bother me at all: Many people think that one needs to have an strong element of surprise for the end (as I said in a previous comment, some authors deliberately defeat the build-up to have this element of surprise which I think is both poor authorship and extremely frustrating for the reader). In my opinion, to give the reader the various clues—in effect, building an environment and space—and then lead inevitably and inexorably to that conclusion takes a lot of planning and literary skill (like a Hitchcock film) with the result of an incredibly satisfying denouement and overall conclusion. I don't know how you can do a sequel, because much of the joy from this series comes from revealing the characters. For a sequel you'd need to have a new cast to make it approach the same effectiveness. The one lingering question I have - which confused me at one point - the protagonists seem to be of Irish ancestry. Was there a reason for this (other than perhaps personal affirmation)?
