Raz is really having a difficult time. Having no control or peace as he becomes every horny camper boy's toy.

This entire chapter is the image of a fever dream, led by Mo's distorted awareness and carried out through the increasingly fragmented narrative and dialogue as you open a window on the pack's pre-baptism TF. I read this chapter during "the wolf's hour" in local time - between 3-4 AM - an appropriate liminal space where one day transforms to the next. I also appreciate the explication in the comments that penetrates the layers of your writing and expands our understanding of the motivations, influences and context that's driving these complex characters through a fast-paced scenario of instability and increasing threat. This is amazing and challenging work that pulls me in completely with every new post.

@[thejazzcat](/user/show/10005285) When you say his body is gone, does that mean it is no longer functional- or that the psychic backlash caused it become non-operative? It seems more that his mind is currently completely mangled.....though it's possible his body was affected by that psychic backlash. If his mind is still stuck in there- he's basically stuck in a corpse. Which is...a pretty horrifying fate for him (very much I have no mouth and must scream vibes), but also...he kind of was way to reckless and caused it to happen, not to mention...everything else. Unless they can somehow scoop his brain out and upload it and make it into an AI (which is a whole other level of horror in itself), it's likely he might wind up euthanized...and that's probably the best option in light of everything. However, feel free to do as you see fit. From my perspective, if his body is basically inoperable, he's basically a dead man walking- basically in either a waking coma or Locked-in syndrome. Either are pretty terrible. Euthanasia at that point might well be the only solution. He's basically too dangerous to let go after everything he's done. He'd likely be on life support for the rest of his life as the other option. On the other hand, Colt and the others are probably going to be having a very fun epilouge. I wonder what the dynamics between the other heroes besides the gold eagle and colt will be like- in relation to Colt himself. Colt kind of has unofficially taken the place of sir in certain ways. But I think they will be a very close knit group after everything that has happened. They deserve happiness. Seeing them be themselves again and re-expressing themselves was a breath of fresh air and a sign that they are healing. As for Leviathan...as horrible as his deeds are...I can't help but feel some modicum of pity for him. Nobody should have gone through what he did, though that doesn't fully absolve him of his darker deeds.

@Anon There is no plan to euthanize him...because he has very powerful possession powers...if any small amount of him is still inside the catatonic body...he could get out again..and that would be really bad for Colt and Rocky.

@[thejazzcat](/user/show/10005285) Indeed, you are correct in this. There isn't really a "happily ever after" that fades away into the sunset here- they still have to live their lives- and that is the victory here. What do you see as Leviathan's fate in the future? Him being locked away is a given- but do you see him being euthanized due to being possibly declared brain dead? He basically is for lack of a better term. Regardless, that isn't Colt and the other's problem anymore- as it should be. They've done more than enough and deserve some peace.

@[Anon](/user/show/10049352) I am currently looking at some ideas...his body is gone for sure...maybe not everything. But I don't know I'm sitting on the end of the epilogue right now.

And so it ends. The heroes have finally managed to gain safety. And it must have been very cathartic for them to be able to finally take down Leviathan. Leviathan's end was horrifying, but in a tragic way- fitting. He became exactly what those who broke him were like- and hurt a lot of people. He didn't realize he was too overconfident with his powers and that backfired horribly. From what I can tell, he's essentially braindead and likely will remain that way until he dies. His story was tragic, but by the end of it all he really needed to be taken down- he had caused too much damage. I think that's why they can't really gain any sort of satisfaction- just relief that it's over and he can't hurt them anymore. In a way, Leviathan never left that room he was tortured in. It doomed him then, and it doomed him now. At the same time, torture rewires a person and it's pretty clear Leviathan was...not alright in the head after what he went through. But it's very clear whatever affection he had for Colt's father was twisted into something horrible over time. The worst part is that due to how he seems to have had no desire to even change his ways due to being so lost in his own emotional pain and trauma- which is likely immense- how he is now is...probably as good as it can be. Though if he were to regain his senses....he'd probably be a blank slate. That's probably as good as it can get for him- a life free from...all of this. I wonder what the epilogue will be like....

@[Anon](/user/show/10049352) It wasn't a victory in the sense of a comic book ending...but the chance to keep living and being themselves is the true victory in this case. They've been through Hell because of that man, but now...now they can live knowing he's done...but that doesn't mean it is over...it never is over.

This series has been one glorious roller-coaster from start to end! Congratulations on reaching the finishing line! (Yes, I know the epilogue is still to come! :P ) I was pulled in by Colt and Rocky really early on and their appeal stuck right through! Thank you very much for sharing this story and I look forward to _more,...!_
