great story! my most favorite in this site is "gerrymandering" so i'm glad you write this kind of story again. such hopeless sinister story. too bad you add Chad Cawthorn in the story because I like to imagine that all the transformed chad would look like that guy lol.

My pleasure, Hypnothrill! As you say, what was once unthinkable has become normalized--I'm sure you are familiar with the concept of the Overton window? It's moved so far to the right...and to be frank, I'm terrified of it not going back. Thankfully there are people working to make it happen, but sometimes it feels impossible, especially when those in power are so invested in the rightward push. Stories like this, though, play a role in helping too! I think the most effective part of the reality change is how in this nightmarish America, the land of "freedom" and "individual rights" has literally become populated by like-minded clones with virtually no free will. And yet the clones THINK they're free because of propaganda telling them so. Similarly, the commentary on a culture so obsessed with masculinity that it has sex with its own masculine ideal (but NOT being gay, because there's nothing gay about appreciating your fellow Chads' bodies in this world, right?). :p That's brilliant! I love reading your stories. :)

Thanks again for your analysis, Feed Your Head. When I wrote this, I was really interested in taking a Reality Change story and giving it an overtly political twist. As you suggest, part of what we've seen under Trump is a kind of slow "reality change," where previously unthinkable dictatorial behaviors and fascist attitudes become normalized and everyone simply gets desensitized to it. It's been about 5 years since I've lived in the US, so it was a lot of fun for me to write this kind of parodically heightened and nightmarish version of American culture (where "God Bless the USA" is the new national anthem). I essentially set the story in a lightly fictionalized version of the town where I attended graduate school: Bloomington, Indiana (where there really was a vegan burrito shop/record store not far from campus).

What an ending. What an ENDING! The sex is hot, of course, but I'm more interested in the commentary. The twisting of the Pledge was particularly effective: "whatever he says will become the whole Truth" is terrifying, because that is EXACTLY how dictators operate (and we've seen it in action, to a degree, in the United States in the last four years--the terms "alternate facts" and "Don't believe what you're seeing and hearing" come to mind...). And then for the ending to veer directly into colonialism and conquest...brrrr. You've outdone yourself, Hypnothrill. Well done. :)

RotherhamMan, Very well done! 🔥🔥🔥 Your written imagery is a great complement to Barash’s erotic comic. I hope there will be more about Jason/JJ (and definitely Hector) from both of you in the future. Lets all meet up at Shackles to celebrate? We could toast your success with a round of "Stripper's Delight" for the house, on me!

As much as I loved this chapter, I do miss reading what happened to the officers, the frat bros, the restaurant, and the people along the road. It feels a bit incomplete without Chad Z's other obligations, and/or other interactions. Thanks again for this great chapter!

Very nice! I enjoyed the slow but steady build up so much. Great story!
