Thanks @Maxisbored - I doubt I'll re-visit this universe, and if I do it'll be with a new young smartass who needs to know his place in the world. I'm think Kyle's probably pretty happy where he is.

@Thom - Yeah, I kind of flubbed the execution. It's always after it's too late when you realize how you could have made it better. I knew when I finished it something seemed a bit wrong with it but I couldn't figure it out. My original plan was to make it like a Twilight Zone episode, but the longer it went the less I really stuck to it. And with the deadline approaching, my focus on ending with the line "I like that idea," and just an overall feeling of being stuck, I couldn't really get my thoughts out right. But if I redid it, I'd probably separate each one into different little vignettes with different characters each affecting another person. So it starts in the office, goes to the gym, affects another character in the gym, who then goes and affects the security guard, then the security guard affects someone else, and then that someone else goes back to the office and sees the changes that were made by the original guy. And then it'd fit into the Pandemic theme a lot better too. But, oh well... @MonsterMash62 - Thanks!😁😁

This is *very* hot--a bear with a bushy beard, tentacles, and mind control. Great combo!

Okay first off, not my usual kink but *damn* this was so hot & well-written that it turned me on anyway. And also — I just *love* the way this story keeps quietly de-stablizing what we think we know about what's going on. It is so well done. First that intro, where we start out thinking we're gonna read a story about a gay gym bro roommate who hasn't yet been affected by whatever is gonna happen... and then finding out, five paragraphs in, that *wait, something big has already happened, he used to be straight*. And meanwhile, we're still thinking that this is a COVID-19 story.... until we learn, very casually and one-third into the story, that actually a *very* different kind of pandemic is in play. I rate this five glowing dicks out of five. (Also five everything out of five.) *Nice.*

Now that Ashton knows about Thomas' techniques and the basics of how to run an induction... what's to stop him from looking up how to hypnotize sleeping people? He only has to do what Thomas SAYS, and so long as Thomas doesn't specifically forbid him from using his phone, (which he can't, Ashton is taking pictures for a bunch of SUPER SLEEZY dudes on the internet) he can look up whatever he needs to while Thomas is sleeping. Hypnoguy12 and New Guy in Town are right, Ashton is the key to Thomas' undoing, because he left him so aware, and able to dive orders just a little. That sandwich? that SHOULD have been a warning sign to Thomas, and Charlie's warnings SHOULD have been taken seriously. But Thomas' foible as you have already presented it is simply: arrogance. He thinks he's too good to fall prey, and we need to use Ashton to prove him wrong. I agree that another chapter or two of adding to Thomas' stable while Ashton plots and plans and is SUPER FUCKING CAREFUL because he knows this is his only shot, before setting Thomas on a dream trance where he unintentionally frees Ashton would create an epic showdown.
