@FantasyWithKinks The difficult part of writing from Renslo's POV (at least from a limited third person perspective) is that unless Charroweir is feeling particularly chatty, Renslo has no believable way of finding out how each item is affecting him specifically. I have these curses written down in notes on my original Gdoc, I could provide those in a comment if there is interest, but as far as finding out IN STORY, I am afraid that you will be disappointed. Charroweir very likely doesn't have each specific curse to each item memorized, (his hoard is vast enough to fill a banquet hall sized room and at least 10% of that is fine large wearable pieces with specific curses on it, which doesn't SOUND like a lot, but please remember the number of individual loose gems that are offsetting that percentage.) and by the time Renslo meets Charroweir again in story, finding the answer to your TOTALLY VALID QUESTION is not on his short list. Unfortunately, I actually do broadly imply what each item is doing to Renslo as he puts them on, so (having been looking at this story for entirely too long) I thought I'd actually sufficiently given enough clues to SHOW what is happening to Renslo, without having to tell specifically, on my latest re-read, I now note where I have been too vague. I don't see the need to change that, again, as this would be the only information that Renslo has access to and to add more would break the limit in my "3rd person limited omniscient POV" that I have established. (Can anyone play spot the former english major?) @Niemand63 I'm so pleased to be hitting a neglected button of yours! I hope you continue to enjoy Renslo's adventures in shiny pretty stones. @WorldOfWetcraft Fear not! The next installment of this tale (which is largely finished, but nothing past that) is very heavily about JUST that, the finding out the meanings of all the instructions Charroweir set for Renslo, and how he does, and *doesn't* obey them. @darkblade2814 and @{blank} I appreciate that you both took the time to write me a comment, even a short one, I hope you enjoyed. @New Guy In Town I must confess that I haven't ENTIRELY created a whole new world here. The ten dragon colors I list are straight from the Dungeons and Dragons base world setting, and I make a vague reference to a bag of holding (essential adventuring gear, I assure you.) but as far as the town, the concept of a shape shifted dragon keep lord and the mechanics of both purple dragons (and blue dragons if I'm being honest) are of my own interpretation. Truly I sort of mocked up this idea while frustrated with my adventuring party for waffling about in town shopping and flirting nonsensically when I wanted to get back down to the adventuring of it all. Having a strong antagonist subvert the base tactics of a typical adventurer in a way gently modeled after a short story I'd read years earlier (and reference at the start of this story) helped me get revenge on my party without hurting our chances at succeeding in the actual campaign. This is going to come up at least once more as I use a single word of D&D's Draconic language. If this infringes copyright at all, I'll gladly change it, I just used what was already established because I am complete garbage at making up words that don't piss me off for finicky perfectionist reasons. To address the second part of your comment I'm not sure as to how thoroughly I'll be answering your question in the next installment, but I do at least touch on it some more, please look forward to that as I polish it up, finish it off and throw it up onto the internet where total strangers can read my perversions.

You've created a very unique world and story. Looking forward to seeing how the story progresses and what happens between the thief and his new dragon master. I'm also hoping to learn how the dragon controls the townspeople and the marauders.

> There’s just something about Woody I don’t like or trust. > Doesn't seem like there's a single member of our cast with a nice thing to say about Woody. I wonder why that is...?

Absolutely loving this! Characters being or becoming super powerful are my absolutely favourite types of stories! Can't wait for more!

Nice! Honestly I'm happy that Paulumbo took over. There's just something about Woody I don't like or trust. Both Paulumbo and Prince seem much more honest and friendly.

> Hopefully you wont be slow with additional chapters… > Considering I wrote it sixteen years ago, this is one of the few times I can honestly say I'm not pushing deadline. Only eight more chapters to go!
