Master tells Scott that “After our conversation in my shop yesterday I knew you’d make the perfect dog for me.” How is that true? Scott was alive and had limited friends? Scott happened to walk in the store that day? There is nothing about Scott that would make him a more perfect dog than anyone else. Not even the spunk in his personality matters. That’s because Master makes Scott “ On that sheet I want you to place all of your memories, your personality, everything that makes Scott who he is. As you do this you are cleansing your body of everything that once was Scott.” If you are wiping them what you’ve really done is cause their personality death and then allowed someone new to use the body. RIP - Scott.

Fred needs a dog and he’s thinking of having his best friend, SG, take that spot. SG already has much of the persona of what Fred thinks he needs. They hang out for hours and often don’t need to speak. And, SG loves Fredand will be whatever Fred wants him to be. However, in gaining one thing you lose another. Fred will lose the human aspects of SG, the person who is supposedly his best friend. SG will lose his intellect and some of his humanity which Fred has help preserve over the years. In wanting this Fred would appear bit selfish. He wants a companion dog because he’s depressed after losing a girlfriend. He also wants a dog to help with the raccoons. He hasn’t said anything about why doing this would be good for SG. Based on Fred’s protection of SG in the past, this is almost at odds with Fred’s care for SG. I’ll give you this has allowed the introduction of a sexual element between the two straight men. Most concerning is SG’s dream, which may be a vision of the future. It had a malevolent tone in that SG’s collar is not just latched. It has a lock on it, which usually indicates a forced situation. Add to that the toes and fingers of SG being encapsulated, which would prevent him from unlatching the collar. And the cock cage which causes the doggy pain. To paraphrase Fred “I don’t think dogs wear cock cages.” Just because SG seems happy like this does not negate those issues. SG’s love for Fred would overwhelm any concerns in his mind.
