Oh boy! I must confess I was refreshing the page a lot today. It's so exciting to anticipate the next chapter! And it certainly delivered...so many questions. Did Todd find out about Nathan freeing Joe? Is Joe acting? What role will Chester play (you're really good, Swizzington dear--I didn't even consider Chester a possible resistance member!)? And, of course, who will win in the big battle? Two more points. One: I like that you chose to have Nathan tempted to use his powers sexually on Joe...but ultimately choose not to. Yes, the temptation is there, and he did use it for homework, but that's nothing compared to Todd. Granted, the ending could be like "Be a Good Boy," where the mind-controlling character who was "good" ends up becoming more tyrannical than usual, but still, it shows that Nathan, while flawed, has a core of goodness that Todd lacks. Especially summarized in the stakes of the battle: Todd fights to take control and rule. Nathan fights to help and save his friends. And two: I love reading the comments on these stories almost as much as the stories themselves! It's great to have a conversation going, and see everyone's ideas taking form. It's been a pleasure talking to all of you! :)

There was no struggle and a good person was completely destroyed. Guilty pleasure. Made me upset.

Your plotting skills are excellent. Yeah, this may be a weird comparison, but Todd kinda reminds me of Walter White from Breaking Bad, mostly in a way where both characters are clearly immoral and are doing horrendous actions, but you cheer for them because the society they live in has mistreated them so badly. So I guess if the parallels are the same with both characters, it does look like Todd will meet a downfall eventually.... i guess we just have to enjoy these moments while Todd is still on top.

Would love to see either of these two caged and plugged.

Todd is not so much evil as an extremely selfish narcissist. i like that about him. I hope Nathan does not win out. He would make a much better pet for Todd.

Ahh, satisfaction is so sweet! The brotherly showdown is very believable yet it was not predictable! I enjoyed definitively showing that Dylan's bluster is completely supported by the mental battle's events. He would have won, if not for Todd's actual trump card, Chester's serum. And Chester's glasses. Hell, just Chester in General! i was looking forward to seeing the subjugation of Chester this chapter, but i am completely pleased to know it is something to look forward to. I am still not any more enamored towards Nathan yet, so I don't know if I want to go so far as to root for him to triumph, but i can see how he might be a valid threat. Nathan is not cocky in relation to Todd, so he's not likely to allow himself to be caught facing down with Todd with all his cronies in tow. this story is so gratifying in its complexity and how it also panders to my love of an unredeemable protagonist. Todd is a horrible person, unapologetic, and has the power to get away with it. He gets to get away with all the bad behavior I cannot because i need to conform to social rules. His horrific actions as well as personality are so liberating and why I hope he stays on top.

I'm glad you liked it (those who did). At this time, I don't have any plans to continue this series, since I don't have a concrete story idea for its progression, but I did leave things open for a spinoff story or continuation. I may return to it if i have a solid idea but am happy with it as a story that has a satisfying beginning and end to it
