Fantastic, as always, rubbrsome. The rubber drones make sense as society's answer to the pollinated - not sure where the electricity fits in, unless I've forgotten something from earlier in the story or from the original. Looking forward to seeing what happens to Ken and the cops. Are the soldiers the fate of the pollinated or the product of recycling? In the longer story series, these apparent digressions from the main plot are always worthwhile.

Fan-fucking- tastic!!! I love this series, it's one of my favourites on this site. Is great to see how long has grown, you've made a great work with it. Thanks for this story! I hope Dick don't become completely unaware of the change, I'd love to imagine him thinking from time to time, how fucked up and twisted his life and town became because of him, or having some episodes of momentary reason, noticing how nobody respect him now, how debased is the police force... but I'll wait for your ending. You always surprise me!!

Stormbound, It's my feeling that eventually unit Dan will get used to the body, and learn not to mind being the ultimate leather daddy in a world full of gay archetypes. I think, in part that he despises the carelessness with which Declan originally decided on it in the time before. Part of the reason that the ending took so long was the fact that I tried many ways to end it with returning unit Dan to unit 7, and still having Declan defeated, but none of them worked... the only way that Eden continues to work is with the leadership of the Great Leader, and the only person who could take over was unit Dan in the guise of the Great Leader. You will notice that even as Dan came back to himself he still speaks of himself as a unit, all the inhabitants of the society are a part of the whole, they are not, and never can be wholly individuals again, the conversion process has assured that, so perhaps in the future there is still hope for unit Great Leader to truly be all that a great leader should be... sorry for the ramble, but i have many ideas yet unexplored in this story concept, and the could be a sequel or prequel at some point...

Nice solid conclusion. It's too bad Unit Dan/7 is stuck in a body it despises so much. I guess the nanobots can no longer reprogram it the way they could Unit 8? Speaking of which Unit 8 got what it deserves, that such a creature thought it could lead the great society is silly. The unit 1s could use some reformatting if possible as well to have a form less like the one Unit 8 originally had. Unit Dan is lucky it was able to spend some time as Unit 7, that form is so perfectly balanced and pure
