Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed the story but I do apologize for the sudden extremely unrealistic turn it took. My next few stories will be more along the lines of traditional hypnosis and I sure hope you read and enjoy them.

You're and excellent writer and this was a great story overall. Just didn't hit my kinks in the end. Enjoyed the scent stuff alot, and the pup stuff too. Thank you!

Brrrr...chilling. Like everyone else, I genuinely despise the mayor. :p I'm also really impressed by your metaphor of the characters' lives being sucked out and literally building up the town--it's a perfect metaphor for how young queer people are expected to give and give and give in exchange for a "normal" life. Brilliant stuff! As a side note, though--and this isn't just about you, Wesley--does anyone else ever get tired of the unbeatable villains that show up in so many stories on this site? Edlam's Alex in the Reeducator series, King Rex over in absman's works, Hypnothrill's vaguely eldritch beings that inevitably corrupt every guy in sight, the new story about the guy with the enchanted signet ring, and--of course!--Mayor Derry. I confess that, unless there is more to the story (like in this tale!), I usually get really bored by the lack of conflict. The bad guy and his completely irresistible hypnotic/brainwashing power are going to win--why keep reading? :( But again, that is a personal preference. Just wondering if anyone else felt the same! Keep writing what YOU want, Wesley--it's amazing stuff.

It is too depressing that I want the mayor to be dead.

As you know I'm also a big fan of POLLINATION: THE SERIES (and the stand-alone story as well). There's something about your voice in those stories - like you don't totally identify with Mike Milano because he's too dumb or something, but nevertheless follow his moves. I love it. :) I like this story and wish it was longer. At one point you have a great threat in this one: > After a pollination, the plant is at its weakest and ready to be cut. If a cut isn’t made immediately after a pollination, the plant will become that much stronger, and ultimately, you’ll lose your battle with the creature that develops inside it. But if you retard the growth immediately, you’ll always remain in control. That's such a wonderful temptation to follow what would happen if the plant starts overpowering Puck. In a sense, the plant has overpowered everyone, even if they think they're in control. But it would be fun to get inside a guy who recognizes he's up against something he shouldn't have but wants anyway. Anyway, bravo for your wonderful stories!

Now would be a good time to go read the last metawriting entry of mine, if you haven't had a chance yet, because I promise you that the story is not going to get brighter: https://wesleybracken.com/2019/08/04/metawriting-straight-town-notes-4/

I fucking hate that mayor with a passion, he stands for all thats wrong with this damn country, the homophobia, the blatant unchristian hatred of people just being happy being who they are. i hope he chokes on buckshot as the sherriff blows his head open
