would be awesome to have him try to find a way to warn the authorities, only to find out that they are in cahoots with the Club and now would have to service sweaty cops' feet along with his "job" at the club!

Heh I was referring to Superion and Rex--the latter I remember as a villain from REX1. Blurry lines between hero and villain in this 2nd installment that it all becomes just a label. Love is corruption for Smartiak but becomes transfiguration for Superion when corruption becomes love.

Loved this whole story and hope you keep going with it. I would love to be the first one Ed changes into his Burly hairy lumberjack son

> Nice roundabout way of telling a love story between a villain (?) and a corrupted (?) hero… > Thank you. At its heart, REX2 is a love story -- not the one to which you refer -- but it's also about relationships, and the ways in which they differ to survive. Because of the very size of the HORDE, there are romantic relationships aplenty -- long-term relationships, marriages, datings, friends w benefits, etc -- and then what happens when one (or both) of the pair lose inhibition and change their sexual views (and appetites). As we see, some relationships bare the load and some don't. It was interesting for me to explore that theme a little. (hahahaha -- themes... in porn!) As to Rex and Smartiak 6... yes, karma's a bitch -- (which should give you some idea about what's Rex is facing next chapter) -- but I was really liking the crazy, obsessive love thing Smarty had going on. It was so... easy for him to cross that line -- and look where it led him. I'll talk a little more about my original plans for Smarty in the next installment -- it certainly wasn't where he ended up.

M. Greene: that was an error, and I've submitted an edit to remove it. I left the race open, think of it as you will.

Awesome! I love the depth of this story. On the surface their feelings are eroding the mayor's programming, but on a deeper level the story is a commentary on when inner feelings come into conflict with the programmed ideals of any entrenched heteronormative society. Thanks for writing. I look forward to the next installment.
