"It’s only derogatory because some people used it in that way." ... Well yeah! Thats the historical context I'm talking about.

It's only derogatory because some people used it in that way. Same as with "disabled" or "spastic". First a neutral, innocent descriptive word until it became abused by people. And just because people are abusing it, everyone is forced to find a new "political correct" term. So we're all enslaved by the stupid, abusing people...

I've definitely seen some latino men use latinx and some latino men object to latinx so i understand that terminology is in flux, that is just the nature of language.

It may not be derogatory in Spanish when you're removing it from historical context and purely describing the actual color but it certainly is in English. Unless you mean to tell me that a white guy calling a black guy "negro" would go over well in conversation today.

This is very well written Willie, I love the way you worked the mythology into it and the pictures are fantastic. my only complaint is the lack of sex. will there be a sequel? I hope so.

You're exactly right. The man that forms from the detective's cum is his clone. In hindsight, I wish I had all the men from the fraternity be uncut. But if I had included that detail, it may have given too much away. I wanted there to be a mystery as to what was going on. Nevertheless, it's to the reader's imagination as to what the Source is doing to all the men. I know that I have my theory. But I'd be curious what ideas you guys might think.

Negro means black in Spanish. It's not derogatory in any sense. "PoC" is a very dumb term as well, same as "Latinx" literally no one but gringos use it.

Martin, the difference between those terms and People of Color is that poc isn't used in a deragatory context. That's why its not the same thing as "colored." Uninformed or straight up bad-faith actors will try to claim its the same, though.

Did anyone else notice that French literary criticism (Barthes) was subtly dropped in this comment section? I believe we, as a community, have ascended.
