Fascinating chapter! I love the idea of the "Somewhere Else"--a spot beyond time and space where otherworldly beings just ARE. And the use of the "mind's mind" to showcase the mental transformations/history is a novel, fun idea (I presume that's what Jason's dream was in the last chapter). The varied transformation types and great writing have set this up as a real winner. Nice going! :D

Three cheers for an amazing story! The transformation was a good pace, and I liked the subtlety of Jason's brainwashing (maybe it takes a few doses of the water to fully accept it?). I also like the idea of transformations of all kinds, and ESPECIALLY writing against the "0% body fat muscle model" ideal...very damaging stereotype, that. Thanks for this great chapter!

Is Imperious an anti-hero? Well, it depends on your definition of the term, I suppose. But he very firmly sees himself as a villain and the thought of being labeled a hero would make him roll his eyes. Here's the thing. Imperious wouldn't call himself _evil._ He would say that he's self-centered. Selfish. Doesn't mean that he can't love some of the people that he has under his thumb. Look at Imperious' choice of words. > "It won't be long now until the enemy signals the beginning of the end" It's "the beginning of the end." Something big is clearly about to happen. Something that maybe threatens everything. Imperious couldn't care less about the rabble, about your average Joe. He sees normal people as tools to use, a means to the end of getting what he wants. But he understands that he's got nothing if the world goes to shit, and he's willing to do _anything_ to prevent that kind of a threat to himself. If he gets to enslave a few of the Hall's heroes in the process, well that's just icing on the cake. The same goes for the other villains that are in the conference call. They don't care about the sheep. Only the fact that without the sheep, the world falls apart.
