Agree with comment above that the details are really making this story stand out -- that and the occasional humor: Igor sighed and shook his head. “You surely cannot compare our Master making beautifully sophisticated aristocratic love with your own bestial peasant rutting…” Otto watched Harold thrusting in and out of their Master and shrugged. “I dunno… After all… A fuck’s just a fuck…”

This is an interesting replay on the Dracula legend. It's a bit unsavory, in that innocent people are brutally murdered to sustain this monster. There is a hope (albeit diminishing) that Vlad will get his comeuppance. This episode had none of the humorous asides of the earlier episodes. I hope the humor returns in later episodes.

You're one of my favorite writers ever and I'm so, so glad to be reading your writing again. Is there a place online where you've been writing over the past few years where a guy could catch up?

If this were a Hollywood film of the 1930s, Otto would be portrayed by an excellent character actor. He's not on screen for long, but his character is so sharply defined that he doesn't need to be present. His coarseness also provides a wonderful contrast to the stately and dignified Klaus (it almost seems wrong to call him by a name rather than a title). Igor could almost seem like a second thought rather than the protagonist. As an opera fan, it's pleasant to see the introduction of Isolde. :) At one point in the medieval narrative, I thought Igor was going to pass by Didham Priory... Great going so far! Again, the wonderful detail that you invest in these stories really pulls this reader in.

Incredible concept and t needs more chapters! Let's try to limit the usage of parentheses - (not a paragraph goes by without a distractingly verbose aside.)
