@hypnothrill we could spend a long time as a Mutual Admiration Society with the way I love your stories, so thank you for your comments! I AM writing a KING REX 2, though it's not the story I've led you to believe is coming from the epilogue of this saga. I'll talk about that more in the comments of the EPILOGUE chapter. (As you can all see, I've broken this sprawling saga down into individual chapters here on the GSS for ease of reading.) I don't remember what made me make the connection between this and the CYCLE ONE series (umm.... maybe 420?) but I remember that more people got the joke than I thought would. "He named it after dog food..." is one of my favorite deconstructive erotic story jokes ever!

Although the idea for the entire story came from the "Batman" transformation in Chapter 2, this chapter had to precede it in order for that sequence to work. So, I wrote this chapter first, even before the Prologue -- the Prologue came significantly later, when I was tipping my hat to the comic book tradition of an "Issue #0" -- I think I wrote it around the time I was writing the "Shazam!" transformation later in the story. There are several little details about this chapter that I love, but it's opening line is one of my all-time favorites -- it's simple and musical.
