To the unnamed anon that took offense at my story. Hynothrill is correct, I was not speaking of the University of Mississippi or Mississippi State or anything to do with their campuses or their histories. I purposefully did not name the Christian College that Jackson is attending nor the Liberal Arts College he likes to visit partly due to this very reason. But no, I was not referring to University of Mississippi or Mississippi State as the colleges that Jackson is involved with. On a separate note, I appreciate the critiques and the advice. I shall try and make future chapters longer. It will probably just take longer for me to publish them as I try to work out in my head where to take things. Again suggestions are welcome. Thank you to Hypnothrill, Ryan Fuertes, firesix, LongTimeFan, Yvne, etc. for their input.

Bashing another over reading comprehension is a tad terrible. I think it is nifty that it was something a person overlooked and could naturally assume the writer meant one thing, but find out it was another. It happens all the time with writing, especially if its someone from the area who might have read a little more into the matter before they realized and offered some insight. If people are losing interest, then they just are. Nothing comes from riling one another up. To the author, its clear you have fans. I would say to keep up the good work and be a bit more alert on the method of how you write. Written words can be ambiguous, but it also gives an effect I like: Where the author or artist has designed their own work to be intended one way and the audience sees it entirely different.

Regardless of how you feel, what I SAID was not for someone to take offense to. I am genuinely hoping that they take the time to look into these matters more as opposed to falsely throwing accusations around, like you saying I am on a high horse for simply misreading. Of that, I can apologize for, but it does not negate that this premise is becoming less thought out all the more. I said what I said.

To the above commenter: listen, this story has its share of problems, but it's not defaming the reputation of the University of Mississippi. In fact, in the first paragraph, the narrator specifically states that "ol' Miss" refers to the state, not the University. And Jackson attends an unnamed Christian college, but then goes off on the weekends to a more liberal (again unnamed) liberal arts college, presumably someplace like Millsaps or Rhodes. He never visits the University of Mississippi or Mississippi State, so you can get off your high horse and work on your reading comprehension.

This had a nice premise, but as I started to read more of it, I cannot help but feel bad with the terrible stereotype you have chosen to present this story with, from the beginning to now. Did you know that Ole Miss is a school that happily accepts the LGBT community while the "saintly" college of MSU just finally got over their bigotry to allow a parade? My alma matter has said and done stupid things, the school of journalism in particular, but my apologies: I am deeply disturbed with how little research you took into the matter. I stand by that you are a good writer on the come up among the community, but this is just really inaccurate asides from the fact that well, it's purely fiction.

As someone who lives in Mississippi and even have friends who attended the University of Mississippi/Ole Miss (Not Ol'), none of this is hardly accurate at all. It is far from the overtly religious campus you have even tried to make it out to be (That is literally Mississippi College and not Ole Miss itself). This is not a defense to the campus and school in any way as TRUST and BELIEVE, it has had its share of controversies in the past year or two that you could have focused on instead. Keeping with politics, it's made quite clear you seemingly know little to nothing about this community asides from the simple fact that the State is Republican Red. I terribly apologize to those who live in the area and attend the campus as you have undoubtedly offended and not in a very good manner.
