Very much love how you decided to added bellhop/service staff of a ritzy apartment complex; don't know if you took my suggestion, or that you had already planned it before. I wonder what other old corny stereotypical costume he will put on others a twisted them into new people with a new vocation in life. I wonder what could come next, a teacher, bookish librarian/archivist at his service, classical music tutor, a milk man, a prep school boys, Ice cream man, a barber a Lawlor to create more costumes to give out on unsuspecting customers maybe? Could William get the chance to boss other people around on Adrian behalf. I also wonder if there will be encounters with other being with similar powers and what shenanigans it could create? I love the conclusion of the story with Willian getting his will twisted to better suit Adrian's needs.

@[Pcm](/user/show/10039396) Also I just realized something....your comments seem to imply there's a real chance the grandmaster- and thus the sacred dusk- could be demonized. If so, if he's lured by the promise of being able to not be betrayed- a very key desire of his- and keeping people safe and defeating evil- which I suspect the demons could twist into "people who oppress others=people who suppress pleasure/making people safe, happy" (terrifying but a very...effective demonic approach), then I can imagine the beastfolk would be at the top of his hit list. Converting Aaron would utterly break wester morale and upend all of their plans, not to mention the possibility of a war the west is so not prepared for. If Eddie- who was an arboreal being could get turned into a demon- it's likely possible beastfolk can be as well. In that light, I'd find it very fitting if Gil just realizes he managed to screw everything up by getting the grandmaster mangled 50 years ago because I can see the dusk if demonized calling out to him, bragging that Gil tried to kill him but failed- and so now he's going to be coming after him for betraying him- and oh look they got his grandson- he's in much better hands with him rather than people who would kill their loved ones (scathing reference to what happened to the grandmaster at the end of the western arc). At the same time this would probably ignite a east-west war which would end horribly. If the demons get access to the realm of death, everyone's souls are potentially at risk of being demonized if the demons can get their hands on them- akin to how wights can be made from any dead corpse by the white walkers. ....Honestly with how bad the aftereffects of all of this are going to be, I honestly suspect the north and the south (and ironically the south seems to be going through some lovecraftian fiascos at this point which Albert is probably going to have a very fun (and by fun I mean terrifying) time dealing with, are arguably the safest places to be right now- especially because nobody goes south and the north seems to have figured out how to navigate primordials. The west will likely survive but will be significantly humbled, while the east will be partying around for a while...until somebody gets the drop on them (my honest vote on this is the arboreal empire from across the sea figures out good enough aircraft to bomb the demons to oblivion because they realize something's off with the realm of death and figure out the demons suddenly have gotten to be a much bigger problem-this is just a pipe dream theory though and probably not true). Either way...the demons don't seem impenetrable- if the dawn could whoop them once- something else could again. Honestly the primal beast in this overall narrative just seems to be the upstart that managed to plan his own rise well, but got too cocky and didn't realize something else could go wrong but it did- kind of like the grandmaster when faking Collin's death contributed to well...everything. Hans is probably looking at his dad with resigned disappointment as he likely figured out Gil and the others blindly following the primal beast unlike the northerners was likely going to bit them in the behind eventually- it just caught up with them now. The western diaspora in the north is likely pretty safe now and likely will also be the soon to be eastern diaspora there (hopefully Eddie does not find Jason because I think Jason seeing Eddie now after what happened in a Ranger's duty would be legitematelly traumatizing). You've mentioned the west will wind up with another eastern diaspora by the end of all this- though how dusk and dawn worship continues in light of this would be interesting if the dusk gets demonized- I can imagine them focusing solely on the dawn and seeing the dusk as a fallen angel figure- and it's likely cultural differences between the two would continue- alongside likely aftereffects of war.

@[Anon](/user/show/10049352) That is quite a possibility, isnt it? Converting Aaron would definite draw the ire of the West and the Primal Beast, and that is exactly what Forlorn is aim8ng for. Remember that Forlorn in this reality has a deal to collect with the king? What would that deal be? A converted beastmen would become the demonic army of hellhounds - terrifying quick and efficient. The Primal Beast, like other Primordial Gods, does not really possess the same ambition or ideals humans do. He represents the concept of predators and preys and he himself walks betweem dreams, his presence in the physical world exits only through the presence of his bestial blood. Losing now is not an ideal situraltion, but unlike the Dawn and Dusk, it owuld not mean the end for himn, and his machination is simply beyond mortal understanding. He is an eldritch being after all.

@[Pcm](/user/show/10039396) Oh the primal beast might not care that is true- for primordial time is always there to replan, but gil and the others definetly will. Hans is probably going to simply remind his father that acting like nothing was going to go wrong and following the primal beast unquestionably was always going to not end well. I sincerely hope Aaron does escape as he is not guilty of much of anything, but it seems that forlorn has his own schemes. I thought the deal he wanted to collect on was avenging how he was excessively used to heal others at the cost of himself- but if he wound up trying to go after the west it makes sense- they are basically the reason he had to fake his death and his family was left in grief after all. This would not be ideal for the west at all, and probably would blow up into an outright war- probably a long standing one. At the same time, if the east winds up trying to pick fights with everyone it likely might overexert itself. I do want to see them get screwed over a bit (the demons). At the same time, as much as I understand why gil did what he did, I think him facing repercussions makes sense. They really never planned for anything going wrong and it shows. At the same time, losing his grandson is horrifying and Aaron becoming a demon would also be horrifying. It's here that I think we really see how sinister forlorn is. He might mean well in wanting to liberate people but well...he can be very cunning when he wants to be. An army of hellhounds would be very terrifying. I'd imagine they'd combine beastfolk and demonic attributes and essentially be hybrids, which would really freak out the north and west. I don't think either of them want to lose themselves to a foreign entity. Unfortunately, Aaron was raised in the eastern cultural sphere- a sphere the demons know perfectly how to turn to their side. I hope Aaron and the dusk don't fall....but if they don't manage to escape its not looking good for them. As sinister as the beastfolk can be why they do as they do makes sense and losing a family member would be tragic any way it goes. I suspect this is probably going to be a major wake up call for gil if it happens. I hope it doesn't, but I sadly suspect it will. Rudolf might remember ruby's warnings that this wouldn't end well (though 50 years ago they had little choice- if they escaped eastern suspicion and prejudice would have likely ended them, so her plot probably wouldnt have worked either- we have discussed this before). Sure, she never would have imagined a demonic invasion- but I think she knew somehow this would all go wrong. If she's been made into a beastfolk I think she'd be significantly freaked out because none of this is good. Granted, ruby's fate is ambiguous so that'd be a personal headcanon on my part. I also suspect that Albert's adventures in the south will also have a major affect on the east as well in some ways, but moreso the south. I think for the beastmen once they realize demonization is possible they are not going to see the east as lightly as they do. The demons represent something completely different from the beast with little order or structure beyond mindless pleasure- which I suspect would freak them out significantly, unlike the pack based society the west has that they prefer.

@Anon I'm dancing around spoilers about Daniel's final fate, but all I want to say is that he does have a chance for a relatively happy ending

@[darkblade2814](/user/show/243317) ...somehow with so many characters I've totally forgotten who Daniel is. Is he from the east too? The name sounds familiar... this isn't a bad thing mind you everyone is done well but who Daniel is has slipped my mind. On the other hand, happy ending is always nice. Relatively on the other hand...that does open up possibility for some conversion influence. On the other hand, better something than nothing.

@Anon Daniel is the grandmaster/sacred dusk's given name

@[darkblade2814](/user/show/243317) I see. That is...interesting. You've mentioned that Hans or one of gils sons will meet him. Hopefully he manages to figure something out. For as much as the guy has screwed up, he doesn't deserve death of identity by demonification. And I say this knowing the man has not treated Collin as well as he should have out of fear of him being turned- I kind of do wish he was better but considering how much gil traumatized him I can see why he did what he did. It's also clear he woefully did not prepare eastern society by ignoring class issues and cultural problems. Hes a tragic figure that's for certain. With daniel/the dusk regaining all his past lives, it seems to me he's going to be very different than before. Hopefully he has a plan up his sleeve.

@Anon I mean, Gil cpuld get demonized too, and both the east and west can unify as one huge kingdom of demons...

@Anon Remember what I said a few chapters back? That Daniel would be one of the causes of Gil's character reallignement back to someone close of how he was before the beast sank his claws on him?... I mean, assuming PCM did not change his plans, well, once we have the epilogue, I will explain what we talked about, as I don't want to spoil the thing so close to it, and the son that would meet him is Markus/Marky

I love it when stories use a hypnotized subject to hypnotize other people. Really into these "infection" type stories. Great story by the way, keep up the good work.

Me too! I tried to write one before, but I was too ambitious at the time. So now I went for something simpler and fun. You can check it out if you want, it was my first story on this site. It has a great transformation scene :3
