A fascinating take on The Count of Monte Cristo, and an excellently written one too. The prose here really felt as though it was ripped straight from a novel of that era. Fantastic work!

@[Bovine Retribution](/user/show/10032242) Thank you so much! I really wanted the prose to sound like something from that era, just with a darker, more sensual twist. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Not bad at all. Some of the changes imposed were a bit obvious and the opening was more montage than story but it made sense for the intended tale of vengeance. The actual Count of Monte Cristo was a son's fan-fiction of his father's life. The biography of Dumas, famous in Napleon's army as The Black Count, one of his best generals, can be found under that name. The story (The Count of Monte Cristo) is a bit more fiction than history but Dumas himself was a lot more of a story come to life.

@[Nnnrg](/user/show/969464) Thanks for the feedback! The montage-style opening was a way to adapt the story to the erotic transformation theme without making it too long. I wanted to condense Dantès’s journey and set the tone for what follows. And yes, Dumas’s life—and his father’s—could fill another novel entirely.

Oh you accidentally didn't link this to the rest of the series. You need to contact a site administrator to have it moved over.

@[Nocturne13](/user/show/263497) Thanks for noticing that. I have no idea how this happened, as LockedPig seemed not to have done anything wrong. Somehow, a new series with the same name got created, and it wasn't easy to sort it out. However, it now appears that all three chapters are correctly assigned to the same series.

@[Corin](/user/show/125990) Yeah I'm glad I noticed and figured out what was going on, especially with it being a contest story.

I'm looking forward to the continuation, the idea is interesting, but I hope the chapters will be much more voluminous and rich in character action.

@[Zander-1](/user/show/10015044) The customer is always right. The second part, which I have already written, is of course similar to the first, but I will write the new ones longer.
