Caedmon's Cock

First, this is a great piece of writing just technically speaking. My main point in commenting though is that I'm a big fan of dialogue, and I'm glad that this story has helped us to bring to light an issue that is contentious in this community. I have to say that I gotta side with the pro-fantasy/fetish side here: there are too many stories of men sticking their cocks straight up each others' asses without protection to make a strong argument that this story is exceptionally egregious for promoting 'realistic' unhealthy behaviors. (Unprotected sex is probably one of the most serious health issues facing the gay community and I expected that most people write off stories unprotected sex as fantasy without a second thought--in fact some authors put disclaimers about unprotected sex before their stories). All of us are bringing our personal stories to the table when reacting to this piece: perhaps we know someone who died of causes related to obesity, perhaps we ourselves struggle with accepting our bodies or know someone who did. I love the way that art can get us to sit down and talk about issues, and I hope that we can use this forum productively to understand each other more completely in an age where polarization is the preferred form of interaction in the culture of many of us here. Write a story that turns you on and I promise many of us will be more than happy to read it.

A lot of this arguing is besides the point. Fat acceptance is a controversial and upsetting concept to some because obesity is undeniably linked with poor longterm health. It's akin to heart failure acceptance except nobody can see you heart from the outside so there's less cultural stigma.

This story has attracted far more comments than almost any other story in recent memory. I guess that makes it a hit!
