I'm thinking about a continuation... as you can see, there seem to be some votes in favor and some against.

The advice you are receiving is right on the money. Writing -- the creative process of taking a story and seeing where your imagination takes you -- is the easy part. That's Day 1. Editing -- the tinkering of what you put on paper and refining, not only the language, but maybe even the story line -- the so much more difficult. That's Day 2, 3, 4, 5 and maybe 6. The first part of the editing is taking advantage of your Spell Check and Grammar Check int the word processing program you are using. MSWord has a good Spell/Grammar Check. It's in the 'Review Tab'. That should be your first level of edit (in my opinion), because it gives you proper usage and grammar issues, such as 'dangling participles' and nonsensical phrases. If you do that you will find a better finished product that is easy to read and makes for better story telling. Those are "form" issues. As for substance, you write whatever the hell you fell like writing. It's supposed to be for your pleasure. If people enjoy it, great. if they don't, that's on them. Keep writing. I want to see where your creative talent takes you.

Yeah, LongtimeFan, I'd consider all the stories you mentioned to be horror, at least in a sense. They're a little like Lovecraft in the way that the antagonist is a powerful, impersonal force whose motives aren't entirely clear. Also, all of my stories deal with the erasure of personality--that's why dialogue tends to be so important in my stories, since that's where the characters' original personalities come through and how we can witness the "death" of those personalities over the course of the story. I think there's also a lot of humor and irony going on in my stories, but if I had to pick one label for them, I would term them "erotic horror."

I agree with the above commenter. It's interesting to consider your work as horror stories, Hypnothrill--it makes sense for the alien/parasite tales, but do you consider things like Hardbodies, Musclehead, and the bathhouse series horror as well? I can see how they could be--losing identity to some brainwashing outer force...
