Anyone have any actual comments on the story itself? The prologue provided here, or the full 100K word ebook on Amazon? Having said that, as long as I’m here and since this is my story, I’ll chime in. This is the first time I have put a story up for sale, and it wasn't exactly an easy choice. I like the idea of sharing stuff online, which I feel supports sites like this one and the community it serves. I chose this route for a couple of reasons. First, I spent a ridiculous amount of time working on this story. A decade if you consider the years that it sat on my hard drive, with me taking the occasional crack at it every year or so. But the actual writing of this version took me over three years. And that seemed like a lot of effort to just give away (yet). Another is that my work hasn't always been so well received here (I'm talking about NCMC actually), and if I am going to get a raft of shit over a story of this length, it’s going to be from someone who paid something for it. As to the topic at hand, as a sometime author here (several regular things posted, and now one teaser/link deal), I don’t see how this effects anyone’s reading experience in any appreciable way. If you don’t like the idea of the teaser, you don’t have to read it. If you don’t like that a story is parked at the top of the list for a day, you can still scroll quickly past it with very little effort. As far as I’m concerned, Hugh can do whatever he wants with the stories he posts here. Whether it freezes at the top of the list for a day or so doesn’t seem to be that big a deal. It has happened very rarely, I think, and if he is kind enough to help me out by doing the same for me—well, I’m very grateful for that. But I honestly don’t understand all the fuss. For those of you who read Deconstructed and reached out to me with your comments/criticism/complements, I thank you very kindly. Best, LLOYD

Hehe I think it would be awesome to see all the supernatural beings fighting over Luke and the poor guy getting putting under various powers again and again getting pulled from pillar to post :)

Again, as a patron, I thought all above questions are reasonable --- if this site have thousands of viewers and hundreds of posts within one day. Frankly, I view this site as a group of bro, or a family of perverts, and MonsterMash62 as a patriarch, and I trust his judgement to handle some questions someone ask (especially about posting and precedence ). And if I don't like what he does, I can and will withdrawn my patron anytime. So far, I don't think he abused the admin power, and I don't mind his method about how a ad-post presented and pinned. And I don't think this site has come to "admin can monetize stories" point, I consider these ads more like "help a bro out". Maybe some bros seems more equal than others, maybe they befriend with MonsterMash62 at other platform so it's easier to ask a ad-post, at least I don't think it's a problem right now. I wouldn't mind there are some new rules about it, but if there's not, I'm ok too. I know it's blindly trust in the good faith of admin, since he revived the old NCMC without prerequisite, and I spent only $5 a month, I would gladly give him some credit.

I'd be more supportive of no advertising on the site, especially stories pinned to the front page saying 'Buy me!' and getting special treatment. Really it's the vagueness around what is being sold that bothers me: can anyone put up samples of paid stories with a link to buy? Do they all get pinned to the front page? What if every story I publish here is a teaser and I throw 10 of them up there in a day? Does the site get a percentage of any clicks/buys? Is the paetron income sufficient to keep the site going or is this another required way of financing the site? Is this a forum for sharing stories or monetizing stories and which takes precedence? Do many other people feel strongly one way or another or am I just shit-disturbing by asking these questions? Apologies for attaching the comment to a story because this is a more general statement, but other than 1:1 feedback with the admins there's not a lot of ways to get this viewpoint out there.
