Well this concludes another story. Just because the previous chapter may have disappointed some readers, I knew I could still end the series on a better note. Obviously Scott didn't join the System as a drone, his mind could still be used to run simulations for potential threats. While he isn't a drone, he is still part of the System. And what's great .. he doesn't even know it. Meanwhile, his body is being used completely separately from his mind. I remember that when I wrote this, I was very happy with the outcome. The Matrix really influenced this ending, of course. Anyways, I hope you readers enjoyed this trip down memory lane. For some of you, this story is completely new. And for others, I hope you still enjoyed it as if reading it for the first time. I certainly did.

When editing this chapter, I was frankly shocked at the conclusion. I did not expect Scott to fail his test. As a reader, I want Scott to join the System. Not only does he fail to become a drone, but by the end, he is actively trying to destroy the System. What the fucking hell?! I think, at the time, I had already written quite a few stories in which the protagonist transforms into a mindless drone. And I probably wanted to do something different. So I had asked myself: what happen to those men that don't succeed? We've seen what happens to the Mike Hartmans of the group. We know what happens to when you become a drone. So what happens to the others? Where do their stories go? I also think I may have been doing something else with this story which may have been a little risky. I probably disappointed a few of my readers by not taking the easy way out. I think for any guy to read this story, and be really bummed out that Scott didn't become a drone, then it (in a way) affirms that you (the reader) should be a drone. That in a way, reading this story is "your" test. It measures where your mind is at. After reading about Scott's failure, and if you felt bummed out, then you were probably meant to be a drone or definitely belonged on this website. However, if you cheered at Scott's rebelliousness, then maybe you don't have the heart of a sub or would oppose the idea of being a drone. Looking back, I think I wrote this story for me first. I was measuring my own reaction against my writing. I really wanted Scott to be that drone, and I was measuring my disappointment that he didn't become one. In real life, there have been several instances in bondage scenes in which I haven't fully trusted the dom, and therefore haven't fully given myself over to the scene and completely surrendered myself. And in those moments, I came to question whether I wanted to be a boi, a slave, or a drone. Doubt starts to creep in, and you really start to re-evaluate what you want, what are you goals, and what kind of person you are. Do you fully trust the Dom or Master, and are willing to give them absolute control? Does any doubt remain? In this chapter, Scott's mindset was not there. But in reading it, I wondered and measured whether my mindset was. I hope that makes sense.
