Keep writing/editing at your pace. Readers will appreciate the time and effort to craft a good story. Everyone will appreciate it in the long run. Plus, what makes you happy is ultimately what counts.

To cutlerfan: I'll be curious of your opinion when the story is concluded. Whether the purpose given in the story satisfied your expectations. I'm also curious as to what stories, you've read on this website, have a positive purpose and an overall benefit? It was my understanding that these stories tell gay erotica with mind control themes / imagery. When I began Think Tank, that's what I set out to do. I also try to challenge myself. In this story, I've been using flashbacks at the beginning of chapters. It's just a way to challenge my writing and keep things interesting.

To bklyn_cub: I can fully relate to wanting to have the whole story right away. However, each chapter that I write takes about 4 - 6 hours of my time. As of right now, I have chapter 5 completed, and will soon begin chapter 6. My general rule is to not post the next chapter until I have the next chapter written. That way, I avoid any continuity errors, and it keeps me motivated to write. I mean, I just spent 6 hours of work by writing, and I'm basically punishing myself because I'm not allowed to post it until the next chapter is done. In the past, I haven't finished stories because I posted all chapters immediately, and then got bored and burnt out from the writing. So by restricting myself on immediately posting, I'm also pacing myself and avoiding burn out. So I guess what I'm trying to say is... I'm really the one who's benefitting by making everyone wait. It helps me stay focused, avoid burn out and produces a better story.

I can't guarantee that the outcome is going to meet with your definition of a positive benefit. However, I can assure you that the Think Tank does have a purpose.

great story, great mystery, great pacing. i think people are primed to want their content all at once is all -- "binge" culture.

I'm willing to wait..it's just I need to see a reason...a purpose...a positive benefit in this. Sorry.

I don't have any intention of making a part two right now, and having looked up Derek's story... it doesn't seem that similar

To Cliff: You are making an assumption that the corporation is corrupt. To cutlerfan: The story hasn't concluded yet. Just because the current chapters don't give the reason for the Think Tank's integration of John, doesn't mean there isn't a reason. You need to be patient, wait for all the chapters to post and then pass judgement. I'm not saying that you'll be satisfied with my reason. I'm only saying that there is, indeed, a purpose to all this. I have a plan and a direction for this story. It just takes a little while to get to that end-point. Think of Think Tank as a mystery. If I revealed the answers to that mystery in the early chapters, then there's no intrigue. The story is boring. So then... what really is the point in reading? Usually, answers are revealed in the final chapter. And it is coming. Expect the reveal to happen in Chapter 6, and everything laid bare in the epilogue.
