I really love the idea of a skinsuit TF story told from the perspective of the skinsuit. The idea of being just a thin piece of skin stretched out over someone else entirely filling you out is certainly bizarre. I imagine having to keep up appearances to the outside world while knowing that you're just a skinsuit to be very mind boggling.

Loving this series. I liked the transformation scene, thought I wouldn't have minded hearing more of the protagonists thoughts while he was being put on.

@darkblade2814 With how gil is at this point, the only way he will change is if somebody in his family draws a line. It's what doomed him, so it is fitting such will save him to an extent. I think seeing gil forced to think about the darker aspects of western society that made Hans leave and later Marky will likely make him remember how he once was, force him to evaluate what the formation of their paradise cost even as they gained, and possibly remember ruby and her warnings- because her mentioning of beasthood being forced ks exactly what eddie brings up (I doubt you'll bring her up, but I headcanon her to either have been transformed or having lived her life imprisoned as a human till she died, remaining loyal to the dawn- being a ghost in the narrative for Rudolf and gil both). I suspect that even had she been transformed, something tells me she'd probably pull a Hans and leave- her conviction and duty make up major parts, and if she did transform, it would be out of a desire to see that duty (in relation to compassion) actualized better in the west. If the west can't do that, wolfheik isn't worth it anymore. Either that, or she died a comfortable hostage as a human. But since ruby's fate is ambiguous by design, this is moreso a personal headcanon for me. Regardless, seeing gil making that introspection would be fascinafing- the societies of the beastfolk and demons and the like have some understandable motives, but often go into excesses that are dangerous and eerie. Seeing gil being forced to come to terms to that- even if only a little in relation to why such practices drove his children away and threaten to split his family apart- would be an intriguing cycle hack to who he once was. All I can say is- I can imagine if gil realizes who the grandmaster is he's going to not be feeling so good or at the very least mildly uncomfortable- if the grandmaster winds up causing a magical catastrophe thanks to the traumas he experienced dying in the beastfolk-east battle all those years ago, that's going to be complicated to navigate. The reality is that the westerners are going to face consequences- the demons are there, they are growing, and once they topple the king- woflheim is right there. Even now, the beastfolk are just concerned over Aaron, but the reality is that if things get even worse- Aaron might not even be around anymore- I shudder to think what gregory has planned for them- his vicious vow in chapter 3 is an eerie foreshadowing of what is to come.
