Thank you JasCo for the comments. The person signing a power of attorney names the person his attorney in fact. So Derek does sigh the document, granting Nick his power of attorney. . As to the leather collar sentence, that's an error that I will correct. Thanks for the reading. I try to cut down on the errors by spending hours on the edits. Sometimes, the editing takes longer than the drafting.

I think you may not have realized that unnecessarily killing a dog makes it very difficult for some readers to take the remainder of your story seriously. Some people are into that kind of emotional manipulation by direct sadism, but many are not.

This is another brilliant story in this wonderful story arc! So many writers here concentrate on the darker side of mind-control and manipulation, but there are occasional authors who explore just what an amazing force for healing something like telepathy or shared awareness could be. Kudos to you, and I'd love to see more!

To person two posts up: would you still be laughing at us if the device was tested by. A mom throwing her child in front of a car? A crunch, a squeal of tires, and the infant was no more.

The dog part was a bit too much... but I'm glad I kept reading. Some issues on the narrative person (it jumps from 1 to 3 and viceversa) I would love to read more!

I think you got the names mixed up a bit here: Derek then signed a document, making Nick his power of attorney, in control of all Nick’s affairs and bank accounts. ... Nick walked towards a dresser in the bedroom and retrieved a leather collar. He snapped the collar about Nick’s neck and locked the collar in place." That aside, I love a good comeuppance story.

Nice story, can't wait for a part 2. But I can't help but laugh at all these people that come to this site to read stories about men who forcefully take control, manipulate, and alter other men's very memories and personality. But the moment an animal gets hurt they start complaining and stop reading. Anyway keep up the good work.
