S.A., think of it this way. I have ADHD. My mind literally sounds like hundreds of thousands of voices every second of every day. Medication mitigates that somewhat, but my train of thought can be so uncontrollable at times that I get completely overwhelmed and it causes a lot of anxiety. The "haze" Derek talks of is, likely for him, what a normal person feels like. I was tested at a young age and had a genius IQ. I can literally learn things in minutes and retain them. While this is definitely a benefit in some areas, try not being able to forget anything from the age of 2 years old onward. It can be extremely depressing/overwhelming to relive things over and over again, regrets, missed opportunities, etc. I am hoping to dumb down to where I can do my job normally but where my brain isn't going on overload every single second of every single day. It can be more of a curse than a blessing.

A true masterpiece. Slow progresion really is the most enjoyable form of mind control. Though I have to say (Well write, really) that I never quite understood the fun of dumbing down. In my point of view, being able to process the information around you is orgasmic. (Then again, I dont even drink alcohol beacuse I hate that mind numbing haze)

Agreeing with Viridian on this one, I've lived horror stories like this. Fantasy =/= reality. The only thing I feel with every chapter is concern and fear. Have fun guys...

Derek is helping me dumb down :) Feels good after finishing a file to be honest, to not have your brain racing all over the place.

It's factual in the sense that this email exchange actually took place — dates are real and the only change I made is to my name. I can't verify anything more than that, not knowing Derek in person, but if you read his stories from before and after (there aren't as many from after lol) there's a noticeable difference...

Kind of scary to watch the narrator become dumber and dumber. I wonder when he'll reach "the point of no return"? He won't even know that, poor SOB! His "friend" is a d*ck for letting him do this to himself.

I'm loving it and it's a great advert for these files. I'm getting to want to join Derek but will wait till the finish in case I lose the ability to read these posts.
