Edward and Doug awaken side by side, shackled in the lab of the encampment. Rauch will give them a late night lesson in the power of a drug he has perfected. He uses it first on Doug with Edward as a horrified onlooker. Beside him, piece by piece, Doug descends into a broken, lust-driven, feral state, broken and remade by Rausch's manipulation and the drug's irresistible influence.
